The series stars Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim and was filmed in various locations across Korea, including Seoul, Andong, and Busan. Dexter Studios employed ICVFX (in-camera visual effects) techniques in scenes such as car chases, innovatively combining virtual backgrounds with live-action filming without the need for physical sets.

*Butterfly* is a 6-episode spy action series that follows the chase between David Jung, a former US intelligence agent, and Rebecca, an agent who is trying to assassinate him. Dexter Studios was involved from the planning stage, designing shooting solutions, implementing virtual backgrounds using LED displays, and incorporating real-time shooting technology to enhance the production quality. This process is reported to have significantly improved shooting efficiency.

This project marks Dexter Studios' first participation in an Amazon Prime Video original series, signifying the company's virtual production capabilities gaining recognition in the global market. Dexter Studios plans to expand its technological prowess by participating in various international projects in the future.
